About the Pilot Program:
It is difficult to perform the same service
for Certified Pre-Owned cars. The costs
associated with any particular used car is
different than that of any other. However,
we are looking into a program to list CPO
cars that are listed $x below Nada/KBB.
Any dealer input on the viability of the
program is welcome and appreciated.
Thank you.
The Real Bottom Line on Cars©
For
Dealers
If you’ve read the “Car Buyers” section, you can probably
understand already how our listings can work wonders by
improving your turn rates. But let’s explore a little bit about
what we ask from dealers, and what we provide in return.
What we offer:
When we have a buyer for a vehicle, it is normally as simple
as putting them through F & I. If the customer lives locally,
you can opt to deliver the car normally if you are not going
to run it as a house deal.
If the buyer is out of state, you can simply arrange
paperwork and shipping, and answer any questions the
buyer may have. Although your F & I Manager is welcome
to offer add-on products such as warranties, film
application, etc., we do ask that there be no pressure for our
customers.
We are not providing leads, we are providing
buyers.
What you should offer:
We only want listings of real feature cars. If your brand has
lots of trunk money and you are usually selling your cars at
invoice, then please do not give us a listing at invoice, give it
to us below. Our customers are heavy internet users, are
ready to buy, and know a great deal when they see one. If
you provide us with a price that is not significantly better
than what everyone else is offering, not only will you not sell
the car through us, but our reputation will suffer.
We ask that your feature car listings are at a maximum of
$500 over invoice. Please be aware with this pricing that
you must budget for shipping. Buyers that are within a few
states of you will expect free shipping. If the buyer is far
from you, we will let them know that they must pay $500 of
the shipping costs. This is one other reason that your offers
must be aggressive. A distant buyer will compare your total
price with that of local dealers.
How much will it cost me?
Surprisingly little. We have only two plans, a 1-10 car a
month plan for $150 per month, and a 1-30 car a month plan
for $400 per month. If you have more than 30 old age
units, I’m very sorry to hear it.
If you have multiple dealerships, or multiple brands that
total more than 30 old age units, please send us the
particulars via the “contact” section and we will work up a
price for your particular needs.
Beyond that, when we sell a unit, we charge a $300 fee,
which is why we expect in most cases that you will price the
car at $300 to $500 over invoice. We charge this fee up
front to the customer, so you must credit it to them.
An example:
Retail = $23,000
Invoice = $20,000
Price = $20,300 (or $20,500)
The customer pays us $300 to hold the car; when you
process the paperwork, you net it out to $20,000 (or
$20,200) in whichever manner your controller prefers and
your state requires.
A word about Motivation:
We are not here to move most of the inventory out there.
We are here to move inventory that you are motivated to
sell. If you list 10 cars with us each month, and sell two of
them, then your total cost would be $375 per car sold. That
is a very reasonable cost to move an old age unit.
—Thanks!
For
Car Buyers
There is a great deal of information online about buying
cars, much of which is not applicable in the real world.
RushCarDeals.com provides the best price
on the cars we list, hands down.
How do we do it?
We list only “feature” cars for participating dealerships,
at a pre-negotiated price of $300-$500 over factory
invoice. In most cases the savings to the customer will
be anywhere from $1,500 to $15,000, with the average
savings being around $2,500 for a vehicle under $40k,
and an average savings of $4,000 for vehicles over $40k.
Why it works:
These cars have typically been in the dealer’s inventory
in excess of 90 days. They are brand new (although we
will introduce a Certified Pre-Owned service later this
year), and come with the full factory warranty.
Car dealerships are paying interest on the cars in their
inventory, they do not pay cash for the bulk of the new
cars they sell. If a car is in their inventory too long, the
total interest paid starts to decrease the profitability of
that particular unit. It also makes their average ‘turn
rate’ (how fast they are moving their inventory) look low,
and makes it more difficult to qualify for factory
incentives. In some rare instances, we may feature near-
new cars that were management demos, unwind deals,
etc. If that is the case on a particular vehicle, it will be
clearly noted in Red (not that it’s bad, but rather to
make sure you are aware of the fact).
Make sense?
What RushCarDeals.com Cannot Do:
The colors, options, packages, and pricing on these cars
is set. These cars have already been built, and if we
don’t have exactly what you are looking for that day, you
can try to be a little flexible on options and colors, or
keep visiting the site; our inventory will rotate frequently
as more dealers join our network, and as these cars sell.
Offers below the listed price will not be considered.
How Do I Make My Purchase?
Once you have decided on a vehicle, contact us by
clicking “Buy,” on the vehicle you want. This will open a
simple email page; email us the stock number of the car
you want and your contact information (we do not like
‘bots), including phone number. We will take a $300
service fee, which will act as a deposit, by credit card
over the phone. We then contact the owning dealer, and
make sure the car has not been sold in the last few hours.
As long as it is still in stock, the car is yours. You will be
contacted by the owning dealership to get the paperwork
sent out, financing or leasing arranged, etc.
If it turns out that the car you are interested in has just
sold (this happens sometimes, but rarely), your deposit
will be refunded to you within 3 business days, with our
apologies.
Shipping:
Currently we offer shipping for free to the Western
states, and for $500 to the Central and Eastern states.
One last obligation:
Most manufacturers incentivize dealers with small
bonuses based on perfect Customer Satisfaction Surveys.
If you buy a car through us, we ask that you give your
dealer a perfect score based on whatever criteria the
manufacturer sets. Please help us keep all our costs
down and resale values up by giving an absolutely
perfect score (i.e., no 9’s… all 10’s)
—Thanks!
